Bastun - Baltic Sea Trade Union Network

Flexicurity

Flexicurity is a topical theme in the EU and within the trade union movement. The trade unions from different countries or country groups in the Baltic Sea region have already taken part in the discussion. Standpoints reflect various national conditions and cultures for which reason differences are marked between countries and trade unions.

Flexicurity in the Baltic States

BASTUN organised a seminar on Flexicurity in the Baltic States on 19 March 2008 in Riga.

Trade unions from Baltic countries (LBAS, EAKL, LPSK), Employers’ Confederation of Latvia (LDDK), Latvian Ministry of Welfare and the agency of work inspectorate presented their standpoints.

The aim of the seminar was to achieve a more complete picture of what flexicurity means in in the Baltic States.
